17.22 World HQ.
An afternoon computing & e-flurrying by the back door of World HQ on this wonderful Summer’s day.
Up in the (jet-lagged) night for 3-5 hours, so a slower beginning to the day than I would have hoped. Shopping, stuff, practising and & over to HQ.
The rooms of World HQ are mostly a mess of storage boxes & stuff awaiting ordering & organising. Unsurprisingly, unless I am here the rooms, continue to offer promise & continue waiting. So, this afternoon some ordering of the space & walls, hanging a Belew & a Willis or two.

The early C20th. chair on bottom right is part of a set of the 4 kitchen chairs that came from my Mother’s terraced house in Aberbeeg, built by her Grandfather & his 8 sons. The young St. Edith grew up sitting on this. I can present better examples of kitchen furniture to discerning eyes but, as Mr. Romain, Purveyor of Antiquities to the Stars, often says to me: you can’t buy sentiment. There are only 4 kitchen chairs in the world that my Mother grew up sitting on with her family, and this is one of them.

Here comes the flood…
Bredonborough’s 24 hours of torrential rain, that caused the recent flooding, also managed to beat its way through the roof of the kitchen extension, down the walls & into the power lines under the plaster. This blew fuses & burnt out the lightswitch, now replaced, awaiting re-decoration.
